Can Serrat Walls
I had been working with images based on automatic writing. At Can Serrat residency in Spain, the peeling walls of the residency building combined with the writing and images of uprooted almond trees in a field just behind. The writing is also reflected in Blog, an artist book begun there (see Artist's Books>Blog)
Rope a Dope
In this series I experimented with various mixed media on paper and canvas. I felt confined by the boundaries of the metal etching plate and needed to break those boundaries. I also silk screened on canvas and painted and poured acrylic paint outside the boundary of the screened image. I was also working out the confines of being a new mother.
